Montana is considering changing the way that Special Education state money is distributed. They are strongly looking at the Vermont funding model. I work for a special education cooperative which provides specialists to several school districts in a large region. We serve 5-counties which equals an area the size of the state of W.Virginia and 35 school districts.
The info on the Vermont model indicates that funding for such entities as ours fluxuates greatly. Is there anyone out there who can tell me more about how this model works? Our special education programs are presently funded by a "child count" system. Thanks. Soozi
