(Project proposal with Glen Waverley Secondary College, Vic Australia)
What do we teach our students about the history of other
countries and cultures? Are we considering the attitudes,
feelings and beliefs of the people of those countries and
cultures when we investigate their histories?
The INTERNATIONAL HISTORY EXCHANGE links students from country to country and culture to culture, giving information to students from an area they do not have access to from books - real people!
This first hand knowledge acquistion gives students the
opportunity to compare their initial reactions with the attitudes of the people who are part of the culture being studied, then further develop their theories, going on to draw more relevant and accurate conclusions.
This world-wide exchange is available to all. Any ideas or proposals for areas of study are considered; it only requires a match to be made for you to be up and running!
