  11. I read Topping's original diatribe, but was unable to determine exactly what
  12. inappropriate postings he was alluding to over on K12SeniorChat.  Curious, I
  13. took a random tour there, and found nothing particularly objectionable, which
  14. I must admit, was a bit of a dissappointment, given Frank Toppings' promise
  15. that there were evil doings being done.

  17. Seriously, Frank, if you still lurk here, or Gordon, or Ken, are there
  18. pedophiles making inappropriate suggestions in Sen.Chat?  As someone who will
  19. ultimately try to convince administrators that this BBS stuff is the best
  20. thing to happen to education since the invention of recess, I'd like not to be
  21. surprised by controversy.  I know administrators who have dedicated their
  22. careers to avoiding any decision that might get them criticized.  It crossed
  23. my mind, as I read Frank Topping's posting, that had I been "touring" K12Net
  24. with one or two of our district's less courageous decision makers, we'd be
  25. pretty much finished at about that point.

  27. So, for those of us who work in districts that rank "freedom of speech" a
  28. distant second to "freedom from conflict," what's the story?
