- Found an obscure but annoying problem the other day...
-
- If I run my application on an HP9000 with X11R4 and Motif1.1, and display
- it on a SPARC 1+ with Openwin 3.0, it takes about *10 minutes* to start
- up (on other machines, it takes a few seconds). The holdup appears to be
- in a routine called XRefreshKeyboardMapping(). "hpterm" does the same
- thing, but other Motif programs do not. Running Motif programs on an SGI
- Indigo and displaying them on the SPARC works like a champ. Running any
- application anywhere and displaying it on SPARC using the X11R5 server
- works fine, so it appears to be an incompatibility between xnews and HP
- Motif 1.1.
-
- Has anybody seen this?
- Does anybody know what is causing it?
- Does anybody know how I can fix it?
-
- Thanks for you patience and attention.
