  13. I am a linux user with XFree86 version 1.1 and XView version 3.0L2. I have 
  14. written a very simple XView application which runs with no problems under
  15. SUN-OS4 with XView3.0 and now I would like to port it to linux.

  17. After having done all work required for compiling and linking a Xview 
  18. application, when I tried to start it from my xterm window, the program 
  19. did nothing! Then I tried to run it from xxgdb version 4.6 and the program 
  20. runs without no problems, but after the following message appears in the
  21. window of xxgdb:

  23.         [ioctl TIOCSPGRP failed in terminal-inferior: Not a typewriter]

  25. What is this message supposed to mean, and how can I correct this problem? 
  26. I guess this is why I can't run my application without xxgdb. Is it true?
