  11. I have a Acros IBM 486 compatible.  While trying to install Norton Anti-Virus
  12. and Acros Anti-Virus, I've run into a few problems.  The end result is that my
  13. fixed disk is locked, and it won't boot.

  15. The Norton Anti-Virus program installation was rough, and I finally gave up. 
  16. It seems that a library it needs is stored in a ZIP archive on the disk, and is
  17. not uncompressed and installed on the hard disk where it belongs.  I removed
  18. the Norton Anti-Virus program.

  20. Next, I ran the install utilitiy for the Acros Anti-Virus program.  It went
  21. fine, but when I re-booted the machine, it notified me that the fixed disk
  22. would be locked to prevent read/write while it booted and ran the virus
  23. scanner.  If no virus' was found, it was supposed to unlock the fixed disk. 
  24. Well, as soon as it says the fixed disk is locked, it clears the screen, and
  25. the prompt just sits there, and a couple minutes later, it still hadn't done
  26. anything.

  28. It'd be thrilled just to remove the darn Acros Virus Scanner and take my
  29. chances, or even get ZIP and unZIP the file I need for Norton Anti-Virus, but
  30. as it is now, I can't even finish booting my computer.

  32. I can boot from a floppy, but I want it to boot from the hard disk like it used
  33. to.  Anyone have some suggestions?
