- This system is very marginal for "Real Unix Work"(TM, IMHO).
-
- I'd:
- Add 4MB Ram: +$130
- Upgrade to 200 MB Disk: +$100
- Get at least a one-meg ET4000 SVGA: + $30
- Get a non-interlaced 14" monitor: + $50
- Switch to a tower case with 250W+ P/S: +$100
- ------
- +$410
-
- For a grand total of $2,060. You might want to consider upgrading
- the (unmentioned) external cache from 64K to 256K (for about $100 more),
- but I've found little advantage for an external cache for "Real Unix Work".
- (Which is why so many of the DX2's are finding Unix or a workalike on their
- boot sectors.)
