  12. Does anyone have significant experience with using 386BSD as the basis for
  13. a dedicated SLIP/PPP to Ethernet gateway?  Is it reliable?

  15. The power where I live has been unstable as of late (ie. goes down several 
  16. times a week)  I have been contemplating setting up a dedicated 386 box
  17. as a gateway machine with an internal battery pack to isolate it from the
  18. electric company.  That way I can leave the Sun's down when I'm not using
  19. them, and at the same time have a constantly accessible node for e-mail
  20. and automated ftp retrieval.
