- Be careful on the shawdowing options. I spent a couple of months trying to
- get BSD running on my system at home. It booted the floppy and installed the OS on the
- hard disk ok. When it got to extracting the bin distribution it worked until I got
- to the final installation message. It hung requiring a reboot. The problem turned
- out to be the VGA Shawdow switch on the Motherboard. I had the remaping disabled.
- When I enabled Shadow memory it worked ok. I have a Micronics 20 Mhz Mother board
- with 10 Megs of RAM. The way I found the problem was through trial and error. The
- switch was one of the few things left.
-
- Good Luck.
