- I have inherited an 8000 server from another department and have hooked it
- on to my local 1186 network and it works like a charm but the power supply
- makes a horrible noise-like a solenoid screaming. I replaced the power
- supply with another from an old 1108 that worked fine but the new power
- supply screams also in the 8000 server box. Does anyone know if there is
- another power supply in the frame that drives the solenoid in the main
- power supply? If so I could try changing that. Any advice would be
- appreciated.
- Better still, does anyone know of a way to download the server software
- over the ethernet to an 1186/6085 box? The 80 MB harddrive and 3.7 MB
- 1186 box would seem to be a more reliable home for the clearing house,
- mail, file, and print server than these old 1108 boxes. Ideas on this
- front would also be appreciated.
- Thanks,
