- that something may be a Sun even if it doesn't have "/bin/arch", and to
- appropriately munge the result of "uname -m" in Solaris 2.x ("uname -m"
- returns the kernel architecture, not the application architecture, so if
- you try running the 3.0x "maker", it whines about not finding
- "$FMHOME/bin/bin.sun4c" or whatever).
