-
- Though I don't have any for sale, here's a tip that may help:
-
- you can use standard 1Mx9 SIMMs as are commonly sold for PCs. Do NOT use
- the "newer" 3-chip units; I've been hearing horror stories about those from
- 3/60 users here in Silicon Valley. Be SURE you get the 9-chip SIMMs.
-
- The slowest speed you can use is 100nS (parts typically with a "-100" or "-10"
- suffix); but more common are the 80nS and 70nS parts. All of these are
- generally available new for around $30-$35 each, quantity one (buy you need
- to install 4 at a time in a 3/60 :-)
-
- And don't forget to set the RAM-onboard jumpers (located near the battery)
- AND set the EEPROM memory-test limits so all your memory is TESTED upon boot;
- many forget to do this which results in (possibly) bad memory not being
- found until after the system is running SunOS.
