  15. I have a small program which computes pi with 300 digits
  16. after decimap point, and it runs either 7.0 secs user time or
  17. 25.4 secs user time.
  18. Configuration:
  19. SS 1+, SunOS 4.1.2, OW 3.0, gcc 2.2.2 OR acc SC1.0 OR cc SC1.0,
  20. program is dynamically loaded, paging activity is 0,
  21. context switches and interrupts are as usual -
  22. perfmeter ranges are "intr 100" and "cntxt 64".

  24. The execution time switches from 7 to 25 secs after an invocation
  25. of "cc", and vice versa - after an invocation of some other programs
  26. or maybe after some period of inactivity (this is somewhat harder).

  28.     What is the cause of such a behavior?
