- I'm interested in information on EVERY color bitmap editing program
- that is available for UNIX computers, and specifically SUN's with the
- *twm and/or *mwm window managers.
-
- I was delighted to hear that CorelDRAW has been ported over to most
- UNIX platforms, but the faxback sheets I got from their automated
- 1-800 service seems to indicate that the bitmap editor (which is on
- both the Windoze and Windoze CD-ROM versions) is *NOT* present in the
- UNIX version. Now, with the entire package costing almost six hundred
- US$ (the educational discount is $300, which makes the price much more
- paletable!), I can't believe they didn't take the time to port over
- the bitmap editor.
-
- The CS department at my University has Island Paint, which I am not
- impressed with. I have only been able to use it on monochrome X
- displays, but the tools just don't seem very powerful to me.
-
- The issue of editing these bitmaps is very important to me, but the
- wares themselves must be the "Stealth Application"(tm) of UNIX.
- Please email me any and all information on PD, Shareware, or
- commercial bitmap editing software for the SUN SPARCstation line.
- Please, I'm not interested in anything that requires OPEN LOOK.

- Stratocaster
- (a proud FUTURE owner of a SPARCstation if he can find this damn software)
