  10. Need to understand why I get following error when trying to set up a
  11. YPslave:

  13. The Master has been preconfigured for some time now.  I have just updated the
  14. ypservers map on the master by the following method:
  15.  
  16. ypcat -k ypservers > /tmp/ypservers
  17. vi /tmp/ypservers
  18. cat /tmp/ypservers | makedbm - /var/yp/`domainname`/ypservers
  19.  
  20. when I attempt to ypinit my server using:
  21.  
  22. ypinit -s masterhost
  23.  
  24. I get the following complaint:

  26. yp_dump error: can't bind to domainname : NIS internal error on Server or
  27. Client.
  28.  
  29. If anyone is acquainted with this NIS error please notify me.
