- My memory might be a bit foggy on this (holiday celebrations and all), but I
- seem to remember flaming them for the size of the post. It was the huge RTF
- posts which seemed more like ads out of NeXTworld than the fact that the
- posts were commercial in nature.
-
- I'm also not too keen on multiple posts, where people (companies) repost
- everything they sell simply because they have a special with $5 off or
- something.

- Indeed.

- While it's hard to come up with a clear definition, a somewhat vague
- definition (which works for me) is that a post includes "just enough"
- information and no marketting fluff. Pointers on how to get more detailed
- info, or on how to get elaborate RTF ads are welcome, just as long at the
- usenet article itself is "reasonably" small. Also, the frequency of posting
- on any one "sales item" is a factor.
-
- I realize there's enough grey area there to paint a battleship...
-
- I guess one additional question is whether we should be debating this here
- (in marketplace), or over in advocacy. Seems to me it should be in
- advocacy, but I don't feel all that strongly about it at the moment.
