- Well, first of all, go to the Mouse control panel and try adjusting the
- double-click speed there. If this fails, it probably means that your parameter
- RAM is messed up somehow. Try holding down Command-Option-P-R while powering
- up the machine, and keep them held down until the startup beep sounds a second
- time; this will reset the parameter RAM, and might well fix the problem
- (warning: it will also reset the settings in many other control panels; you'll
- have to go through and set them up properly again). If that fails, do a full
- reinstall (trashing the old System Folder).
