  11. I have a IIci with 8 MB of memory and only about 256K of it set for cache.
  12. Over the last few days I have been getting two different messages about
  13. memory problems and would like to find out what to do about them.

  15. BTW, I am running with Sys 7.0.1 and the only things open on the desktop
  16. are the finder and one application at a time.

  18. The first message comes when I send something to the laserprinter. I get
  19. the message box that says there isn't enough memory to print now and
  20. gives me options to print later, cancel, or print now. If I select "print
  21. now", it does print just fine.

  23. The second message came just last night. I was trying to open a file in
  24. Electronic Home Design (a low cost home planning package) and got an
  25. "Insufficient Memory" message. That's all the message said. When I clicked
  26. on O.K. the application opened, but not the file I was looking for.

  28. When I look at "About this Macintosh" it shows a 4 MB unused block of 
  29. memory. So, what gives? More importantly, what can I do about it? I
  30. don't think more memory is the answer in this case (although it wouldn't
  31. hurt). Something somewhere is staying resident in memory that isn't 
  32. showing up visually.
