  13. When I did the 7.0 to 7.1 upgrade, here's what happened with fonts:

  15. All fonts moved to the new Fonts folder.
  16.  
  17. Geneva, Monaco, and Chicago were ALSO in the System file.  I left them
  18. there (what happens if someone moves the Fonts folder?).
  19.  
  20. The "purgable" bit on the fonts in the Fonts folder was unset (I
  21. didn't actually check ALL of them, just several).  This is what causes
  22. the memory usage to appear higher.  I "solved" this by reinstalling
  23. the Apple Font Pack, which installs things with the purgable bit set.
