- As I have said in other postings (whether you've seen them or not), I
- am a new mac owner. My roots are in UNIX, mostly of the workstation
- variety (with a smattering of VMS and (argh!) Data General AOS/VS --
- though, why should you care?). Anyway, I want my mac to have some of
- the 'luxurys' I've grown used to. For example, I want an emacs clone
- (microemacs?), I would love to gateway email to the net (uucp/uupc?),
- get news (of course!) play my favorite games (moria, hack, various
- startrek incarnations, etc.) connect to my sun (X, ppp/slip, etc.)
- and so on and so forth.
-
- Has anyone put together the information into a single FAQ which covers
- such topics? I suspect there is a fair number of folks out there
- with the same questions. If there is no FAQ, bear with me as I toss
- out such questions for discussion now and again...
