- There's a few more factors:

- 1) Most important is that Apple is already in bed with Motorola.
- 2) The PowerPC is based on IBM's risc chip (I'm pretty sure, but I
- could be wrong) with many improvements. It now has been merged with
- certain aspects of Motorola's 88100 series. This means that it's closer
- to a second-generation chip than the Alpha. i.e. Elements of the PowerPC
- design have been beat on in real-world use.
