- We had a similar problem with a 45MB third party removable drive (from a
- French assembler, but it's basically a syquest). We had exactly the same
- problem with a Q950, and the message appeared randomly. We didn't have
- any "offical" explanation neither from the manufacturer nor Apple. But i
- guess it's a problem of the SCSI bus (notice that the A900 & 950 have different
- SCSI bus than other Macs ) which should be very sensitive to noise, and may
- interpret random noise signals as a signal comming from the drive saying
- "unredable disk" (such signals aren't interpreted when you diable the
- extension). Given that when you click on Eject the machine continues to
- work well, and the drives reads and writes carts correctly, there's no need to
- panic. I've just left it as it is, SCSI manipulation is a a sort of black magic
- and sometimes a good prayer may be more helpful than tech support :-).

- Hope it helps, don't worry, it's really not a problem.
