- I just upgraded my IIci to 20MB of RAM. I've seen a number of discussions
- regarding performance relating to the video ram on the IIci. I know the
- IIci uses the memory in Bank A for video ram, and I know system performance
- can be increased by forcing applications to run in Bank B. I currently
- have 4MB in Bank A and 16MB in Bank B. I have the disk cache set to 1024.
-
- What experiences/recommendations are there to maximize memory performance
- on a IIci with 20MB?
-
- I'm also running A/UX (although I do run the native Mac OS as well). What
- considerations need to be made in regard to A/UX performance? I've
- increased NBUF to 2000 and I've noticed a dramatic increase in performance
- (both A/UX and Finder applications). The Finder Memory CDEV is set to
- allow 12 MB to be used for Mac Applications.
-
- Please respond to mp@az.stratus.com. I'll post a summary of all responses.
-
- Thanks,
-
- Mike
