  24. The quick answer is "it depends..."

  26. There are two hardware versions of the 8*24GC card and two ROM versions.

  28. The original Rev A hardware with the original Rev A ROM will not support
  29. 16" monitors as it does not recognize the 16" sense codes.

  31. If you put the Rev B ROM into a Rev A card, it will understand the sense
  32. codes and support 16" monitors at 832 x 624 in up to 8 bits of color.

  34. The Rev B hardware with the Rev B ROM can support the 16" monitor at
  35. 832 x 624 in up to 16 bits of color.  The Rev A hardware does not have
  36. the proper D to A hardware for 16 bits of color.

  38. If you set the sense lines to indicate at 21" monitor, any 8*24GC card will
  39. support it at up to 8 bits per color.
