  16. One thing to keep in mind is that all video options require 
  17. a driver.  Some cards install the driver via init, and some
  18. by firmware (ie, ROM).  Neither option protects the user from 
  19. the possibility of incompatibility with future system software
  20. or peripherals.

  22. In the case of an init, at least the user has the possibility 
  23. of a cheap upgrade if and when the driver "breaks".  If the fix 
  24. requires a new ROM, you may wait anywhere from months to forever.
