- lm> The most higly rated CD-ROM is the NEC CDR-74 which transfer data at
- lm> 300KBPS, twice as fast as most other drives. I'm pretty handy with
- lm> electronic equipment so I'm thinking about buying a CD-ROM for a PC,
- lm> making my own cable and power supply, and buying something like CD-ROM
- lm> toolkit from FWB to drive the thing.

- The only difference between the PC model and the Mac model is the interface
- kit. The PC kit has the software, cable and a card. The Mac kit has the
- software, SCSI cable and no more. Tigersoft and other places sell the drive
- (power cord included) without any interface kit. I suppose you can use your
- own SCSI cable, and FWB CD-Toolkit.
