- Well, this should be clarified a bit. Adding the extra 1/2 meg of VRAM
- gives
- you a 32 bit data path to video (vs a 16 bit path with the built-in 1/2
- meg).
- That's the way the video hardware is designed. What this translates to is
- faster drawing to the screen. Since the Mac typically does a lot of that,
- the system runs a bit faster. Of course, if you're running an application
- that isn't doing much drawing, you won't really see any change. The
- speedup
- is in effect for all video modes...
