  48. That little symbol or display is Easy Access - you might want to either
  49. turn it off with an extension/control panels manager or take it out of the
  50. System folder...and restart.

  52. BTW it (Easy Access) is turned on and off by hitting the shift key 5 times
  53. in succession.
