-
- One of the advantages of managing a training facility is that one has
- access to globs of equipment after hours, including a Quadra and three
- 19" RasterOps monitors. As dramatic as the performance difference is
- between a IIci and a Quadra when running normal Leyte Gulf, it's much
- wider when running in Panorama mode.
-
- Hooking up those three big screens and the Quadra turned the training
- room into a simulator facility better than the original Hellcat pilots
- ever had. Experienced flyers nearly wet their pants. A barrel roll
- became a spectacular show for bystanders.
-
- Also: in Panorama, the instant replay, chase, and enemy views also use
- all three monitors. Very choice; if you have the means I highly
- recommend it.
-
- Important notes, for those of you planning to try this at home (maybe by
- borrowing friends' monitors):
-
- 1) You can do this trick with only two monitors, as long as they're the
- same resolution.
-
- 2) The screens need to be *exactly* horizontally aligned. If Panorama
- mode is greyed out, go back to the Monitors control panel and try again.
-
- happy flying,
- --M.
