- Recently I picked up the Mac version of Space Quest I for $10. My
- experience with Sierra games has been average so far, but I never really
- got frustrated until now. The game is really non-intuitive in terms of
- what you SHOULD do vs. what has to be done. For example, the game hints
- that the Spider Droid seeks out and destroys moving life forms. To
- destroy it, I grabbed a piece of the spinach-plant and tried to throw it
- at the spider to distract it. No go. It turns out that the rock on the
- bridge has to be dropped on it. Another example is the hole in the cliff
- which eats you up. This just gets real annoying. Especially when you
- have to examine EVERYTHING. That gets tedious; and whne I examined the
- hole in the cliff, I got eaten.
- When I had my Atari ST, there was an excellent game for it by
- FTL called Dungeon Master. I was windering if anything like that existed
- for the Mac. I can't seem to find a Mac version of DM unfortunately. The
- problem with most adventure games is you have to be SO SPECIFIC that you
- get tired of playing them. Dungeon Master was fun becuase most things
- were intuitive and your characters developed as the game progressed. If
- anyone can suggest a decent adventure game for the Mac, please do.
- Nothing like Spectre, but something I can FINISH. I haven't been into
- playing games since around '88 and I need the relaxation. Thanx.
