  13. I finally got around to installing and testing the Zoom VFX in FAX mode.
  14. It came with STF s/w, and like it was with data mode, it "worked right
  15. out of the box". In fact, IMHO, this software is better than the "Maxfax"
  16. that is shipped with the Prometheus Ultima Home Office. My search for
  17. the "best, cheapest 14.4" ended with the Zoom. Good luck in *your* quest!

  19. To the acolytes, this modem performs flawlessly with ARA, datacom
  20. programs, and FAX. Before you blame the modem, make sure you under-
  21. stand the system setup, 'specially 7.

  23. To the bandwidth police, this is my last post extolling the virtues of the
  24. Zoom VFX.
