- Hello MacTCP experts!
-
- We have been using Wingz DataLink to communicate with an Informix database
- on a UNIX host. This set-up requires MacTCP. We have maintained a relatively
- stable connection for over a year now, and have been able to solve any
- problems - until now.
-
- When anyone uses DataLink to open a connection w/ a database on the UNIX host,
- the following error message appears: "Your MacTCP software had problems
- sending data because the TCP connection went down. (ERR# -27015)".
-
- (BTW,does anyone have a listing of MacTCP error codes? )
-
- Whenever I experience *any* problems with DataLink, the first thing I do is to
- check the connection with NCSA Telnet. I have no problems connecting with the
- UNIX host with Telnet (MacTCP version). This suggests a problem between
- DataLink and MacTCP. I know that DataLink has been configured properly; we
- have not experienced *this* problem before. The problem occurred suddenly and
- affects all of our DataLink users (so it is highly unlikely that we all did
- something stupid to our DataLink configurations :-)); this seems to suggest
- some single point of failure... maybe the UNIX host?... maybe the network
- itself? These are the only things I can think of that are common to all the
- users.
-
- I am out of my league, so I am seeking the wisdom of the Internet community
- of Mac communication gurus. Thanks in advance for any help!
