- I have an accelerated Mac512KE(20Mhz,68030) and would like to use a high speed
- modem. I have the old DB-9 type serial port connectors which unfortunately
- do not (so I am told) support hardware handshaking required by high speed
- modems. Specifically, the HSK0 signal (the output handshake from the
- zilog 8530 DTR pin) is not available on the DB-9 connector.
-
- Is there a way to access the proper signal internally? If not, is there any
- software available that would allow me to attatch another serial port to my
- SCSI bus?
-
- If there is not a way to implement the hardware handshaking, then what is
- the maximum speed and with which model modem?
-
- I currently have a Hayes Smartmodem 2400 baud and was unable to use a
- SupraV.32bis modem using my
- present (non-flow-control) modem cable at any speed higher than 2400 baud
- for file transfers. Terminal sessions were working at up to 19,200 baud.
