- I just unpacked my new Zoom 14.4k Fax/Modem and VersaTerm 4.6
- software. I have got everything configured to use SLIP to my
- terminal server at work (very easy with VersaTerm SLIP Admin!).
- I was able to create a Telnet session just fine. Then, the first
- file I wanted to download was a Zoom Modem Tool for CTB. I started
- up the FTP Client and started the transfer. About half way through
- the transfer, it seem to stop receiving data. The Send and Receive
- LEDs on the Zoom would blink periodically but no more data was being
- received (or so says VersaTerm). Funny a similar thing happened last
- month when I tried to use NCSATelnet and SLIP. With NCSA I could get
- Telnet sessions just fine, but when I tried FTP, it hung my Mac. With
- VersaTerm, the Mac is not hung just the FTP receive file?

- Yes, Virginia, I have a Hardware Handshaking cable and I have the Modem
- set for CTS/RTS handshaking. I think its AT &K3, the default for this
- modem.
-
- Does anyone have experience using VersaTerm SLIP and Zoom 14.4k modems?
- What about the MTU setting? I left it at the default, 1006 I think. Any
- other hints or ideas?
