  20. I have had success using a tar program on my Mac to read disks formatted
  21. on a SPARCStation 2 and written with tar (for files which are smaller
  22. than a single floppy) or bar (for files which must span multiple floppies).

  24. The formatting command I use is:

  26. fdformat -ev /dev/rfd0c

  28. and the usual forms of tar/bar. The tar program for the Mac I use was
  29. posted on Usenet within the last few months, and is probably available
  30. at the usual archive sites.
