-
- System 6.x does not include software to be a network server though it does
- include system software to be a client.
-
- There is an add-on called "DataClub" that can be used to give both 6.x and
- 7.0 network server capabilities. All Macs with Dataclub installed become
- one virtual server - i.e., the disk space for all Macs on the network is
- "added" together to make one big virtual server that any Mac on the network
- can log into and all Macs share network tasks.
-
- Thats the good news: the bad news is that DataClub was bought out by Novell
- (big corporate PC based network file/print/DBMS servers). I do not know if
- Dataclub is still available. I haven't seen it advertised for awhile. I
- can't find the disks/documentation to give you a phone number. I receive
- the software as a freebie promotional things when they went to version 2.0.
-
-
- I'll keep looking.
