  22. it, you may not have gotten an accurate measure of screen performance.  If
  23. you did the equivalent of "send local" that would not be accurate because you
  24. would be measure the text send speed plus a special "local echo" mode of the
  25. communications software.  A real test would be to have an application (of some
  26. form on some platform) simply dumping raw data across a valid connection - at 
  27. Software Ventures we used to use a Unix box and just 'cat' files since that was
  28. a common "real world" test.

  30.     I think you will find that Smartcom has the best screen speeds (of the
  31. products you mentioned), followed by MicroPhone (4.0), VersaTerm, ZTerm and
  32. White Knight somewhere at the bottom.
