- Daymark is closing out the Librix T386SX computer. I recently purchased
- the computer from them. The price is $1195.95. If you are a member of
- their buyer's club, you get a 10% discount from this price.
-
- I had owned an NEC Ultralite until it was crushed in my luggage. The
- Ultralite was only marginally useful as a computer but very useful as a
- lightweight terminal.
-
- I bought a TRIGEM GEMNOTE for $995.95 at COMPUSA. The TRIGEM GEMNOTE is
- an excellent value, but at seven pounds without extra battery and
- power supply, it was just a bit too much to lug on airplanes every week.
- Also, my GEMNOTE came with only 2 MB of RAM. An upgrade to five MB of
- RAM was $250.00.
-
- The Librex is much better built than the Trigem. It is covered with a
- rubber material that gives the Librex a very good finish. The screen is
- very large and bright. The floppy is external. The Librex T386SX
- weighs about the same as the original Ultralite. I includes an 80 MB
- drive and 4 MB RAM.
-
- The Librex T386SX comes with a leather case that is large enough to
- carry the computer, power supply, portable Fax Modem and trackball.
- If I would fault anything about the T386SX it is the keyboard. The
- keyboard is not a responsive as I like. This is a matter of presonel
- taste.
-
- Three people in my office have said they are going to by the Librex
- after seeing it. Daymark has an 800 number. I highly reccomend this
- laptop.
-
- Librex has announced that it is withdrawing from the U.S. Computer
- market. Librex is owned by Nippon Steel.
