- I do not normally read this newsgroup, so please MAIL responses :)
-
- I will be upgrading from an IBM PS/2 Microchannel to an ISA based 486.
- I have a Microchannel MPU-IMC (the MPU-401 Microchannel board from Roland)
- connected to an MT-32 Sound Module.
-
- I desire SoundBlaster compabilities for use with games. Do games which
- support Roland + SoundBlaster use the Soundblaster's MIDI port and protocols,
- or do they use the MPU-401 MIDI protocols? Assuming the latter, is there
- a sound board with SoundBlaster compatibility AND a MPU-401 MIDI port?
-
- MPU-401 compat is a must in any case. Other MIDI protocols are not
- acceptable.
-
- All "serious" composition works will be using the Roland, so recording
- abilities are not a priority. The only use for SoundBlaster is for games.
- Is there a cheaper alternative instead of buying a SoundBlaster and an
- ISA MPU-401?
-
- Thanks,
- Eugene
