- Hello!
-
- Friend of mine just bought Proaudio Spectrum-16 card (PAS-16). But we have
- some, not so minor, problems.
-
- While we're doing something in DOS, PAS-16 plays itself some FM-sounds through
- speakers. I quess sounds are those internal FM-sounds included in PAS.
- Also it "plays" sometimes just crisp and crasps very loud.
- Sometimes it doesn't play digized samples at all, or if does, very tinny
- (pas volume settings help for this).
-
- Biggest mystery are those "automatically" played FM-sounds in DOS, without
- running any music program.
-
- Computer setup: ADC 486dx-33Mhz
- ISA-bus
- Multi-I/O card (1 paraller, 2 serial and game port)
-
- and display driver. Floppy and hard-disk drivers are integrated
- into multi-I/O card.
-
- We have changed irq and dma settings for soundblaster and PAS, but it didn't
- help. We also disabled COM-2 from I/O card, but same results.
-
- We also changed bus-speed from SETUP, disabled internal cache, but didn't help.
-
- I also tested it in my machine (386sx-16Mhz), where it worked just OK.
-
- So, if anybody is experience this problem before, we'd be very happy to have
- any help.
-
- Thanks
- Mika
