- Hello...
-
- Today I became the proud owner of a PAS-16 card. Everything SEEMS to work
- great for awhile... However, after messing with the DMA levels and IRQs, I am
- getting the following results after running certain pieces of software:
-
- *Ultima 7 (Soundblaster AND Adlib did the SAME thing)
- -Sound was tinny, and the digital samples sounded like white noise at times
-
- *Windows 3.1
- -FM sound is VERY weak (quiet)
- -Upon exiting, any digital sound is very quiet (in DOS i.e. PLAY CHORD.WAV)
-
- After doing a PAS RESET everything sounds fine again, but I shouldnt (or
- should I??) have to do this upon exiting windows.
-
-
- The setting for the PAS-16 is DMA=3 IRQ=2
- The setting for Soundblaster is 220h base, IRQ=5
-
- Norton reports an LPT2 on IRQ5 however!! I have no LPT2!!!!! (is norton just
- confused and this is normal behavior or what?)
-
- Has anyone had similar results and have found a way to remedy the situation?
-
- Please respond by e-mail if possible!
-
- Thanks!
