  16.    Today I became the proud owner of a PAS-16 card.  Everything SEEMS to work
  17. great for awhile...  However, after messing with the DMA levels and IRQs, I am
  18. getting the following results after running certain pieces of software:

  20. *Ultima 7 (Soundblaster AND Adlib did the SAME thing)
  21.    -Sound was tinny, and the digital samples sounded like white noise at times
  22.  
  23. *Windows 3.1
  24.    -FM sound is VERY weak (quiet)
  25.    -Upon exiting, any digital sound is very quiet (in DOS  i.e. PLAY CHORD.WAV)
  26.  
  27.   After doing a PAS RESET everything sounds fine again, but I shouldnt (or
  28. should I??) have to do this upon exiting windows.

  31. The setting for the PAS-16 is  DMA=3  IRQ=2
  32. The setting for Soundblaster is  220h base, IRQ=5
  33.  
  34. Norton reports an LPT2 on IRQ5 however!! I have no LPT2!!!!!  (is norton just
  35. confused and this is normal behavior or what?)

  37. Has anyone had similar results and have found a way to remedy the situation?
