The error you received with the midi player means that it could not find
the specified instrument in your patch system ie)it is not listed in the
default.cfg file. You can overcome this two ways. #1, creat a cfg file for
the song you want to play and substitute instrument #64 for one that you
have that exists. #2, wait for the new and improved full patch set from
Gravis.

As far as detecting a full meg of ram on the gus, I am working on a
program that not only tells you how much ram is on your GUS, but also
tests it to make sure that the chips are all OK. Expect it very soon on
EPAS. If somebody does not beat me to it. (It is a very simple program to
write).
