- The best that I've been able to determine is to get a real OS - UNIX, OS/2,
- NT. The problem is that DOS can't address beyond 1MB. There is supposedly
- 384K between 640K and 1MB for loading things "high", but this area is
- also used for display memory, BIOS, and mapping some boards such as
- SCSI and/or networking. I've got a mixture of drivers that could load
- outside of the 640K area, but some only will load into expanded memory
- and to emulate expanded memory uses up 64K of the upper memory area, so
- thes rest of my drivers have less room than before. It seems like a
- no win situation. I'm thinking of OS/2, but I don't think my
- network drivers will work.
