- There's a place that has advertised in Comp. Shopper for a long
- time now, and it seems that their name is HI-TECH. In their latest ad,
- (Jan 93, p. 380) they are selling 16-bit SCSI HARD ONLY (Future Domain)
- for $49 and 16 bit HARD and Floppy controllers for $69.
-
- Now aside from the ST01/02, I thought that SCSI controllers were usually
- over $100, if not over $200. Does anyone know what controllers this
- place is selling?
-
- They've got some good prices on their SCSI drives, but the killer for
- me was always the cost of the controller. I assume that they know if
- their 16 bit $49 or $69 controller will work with their advertised drives,
- if I were to buy one, but I was wondering if their controllers are worth
- their salt (ie I don't care about buffering, I'm not into file-servers or
- unix or os-2, and I want a minimum of 800 k/sec transfer speed).
- Any comments?
