  12. Packard Bell computers are POS's, they are junk dont buy 'em.
  13.   My father unfortunately bought a Legend 725DX (a 386 25mhz DX, I dont
  14. know why they call it a 725????) and it is full of problems.  First of
  15. all the 3 1/2 in floppy died. (Waited 2 months for Best Buy (NOT!) to
  16. return it fixed!!)  Then a month later more trouble!  When the computer
  17. was turned on (or rebooted) the POS gave a fixed disk error and said to
  18. press F1  (or F2 for setup).   My dad was  tolerating that for about a week
  19. but then the computer starting to mysterious reboot when it felt like it!!!
  20. He brought it to Best "BAD" Buy and had to wait 2.5 months for those
  21. SOBs to replace the motherboard and hard drive!!! (Oh yea, when he got
  22. it back, it lacked its 4 meg that it had!! Another trip to Bad Buy!).  
  23. A happy ending right? WRONG!!!! GUESS AGAIN!!!
  24. The computer started to ask for that F1 message again (for the hard
  25. drive, does any one have any clue way the PB does this??? Please write
  26. me about it.)  My father is not too thrilled about waiting 2 to 3 months
  27. for his computer to get fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. In addition, the cpu makes a high pitch ringing!!!! Also the junk PB
  30. 8538 SV monitor is garbage too.  It makes noises too!

  32. I have also heard that PBs are not very accepting when it comes to
  33. reprogramming the timer interrupt at higher speeds.

  35. Packard Bell computers are garbage.  They are EVIL!! Dont buy one!!!!

  37. Since I am in a poor mood, I'll mention I hate Seagate drives.  Those
  38. pieces of garbage suffer from stiction!  I thought only cars got
  39. stuck!!! In fact my rear wheel drive car got stuck massively fewer times
  40. than that drive I knew! (BTW I live in Minnesota brrrrrrrrrrrrr! dont
  41. move here, it is way toooooo cold and tooo snowy)
