  10.      A motherboard vendor told me that I should buy an AIR motherboard because
  11. it is the only one they carry that has true bus mastering VLB slots.  The 
  12. others, including the Micronics board used in the Gateway machines, don't
  13. do bus mastering.  The ATI graphics cards for local bus are, he said, bus
  14. mastering cards and can take advantage of the AIR board's bus mastering
  15. capability.  My questions to all you netlanders are:

  17. 1) Is it true that the VESA VLB spec allows for non bus mastering cards?
  18. 2) Is this guy giving me a line of bull?
  19. 3) Does anyone out there know anything about AIR (Advanced Integrated Research)
  20.    motherboards, or has anyone benched one of theses AIR VLB boards.
