  12. OK, I've discovered that my tape backup unit won't let me connect it in 
  13. parrallel with two floppy disk drives.  I am now considering using an 
  14. external mechanical switch to manually select between one of the 
  15. floppy drives and the tape unit.

  17. I suppose I could leave the tape power connection on all the time and 
  18. use a  double throw, multi-pole switch on the control lines to select
  19. between the floppy and the tape unit.  My question is what is the 
  20. minimum number of lines (and which ones) would I need to switch.  Not
  21. all 34 I hope!  Has anyone tried this?
