- Another good reason for SCSI that I can think of is lack of
- proliferation of controller cards. I have a few friends who have
- their systems packed (and they have 8 slot motherboards) and cannot
- expand any further (easily). If they had a single SCSI controller
- that handled their disks, CDRom, Tape drive, etc they would have more
- open slots in their machine.

- I believe that this issue will become even MORE important as the trend
- toward smaller motherboards with fewer slots continues. A large
- percentage of the motherboards today only have 6 or 7 slots. I still
- sell ISA motherboards (386/486 upgradables) with 256k cache that have
- 8 - 16 bit slots but these types of motherboards are few and far
- between.
