- I can't speak to the 90, but the 44 will work pure SCSI. I called
- Iomega about this, and they said that it was standard 50-pin SCSI.
- Their only caveat was that I would need a controller from a vendor who
- supported Bernoulli (or removable media, in general).
-
- My home machine uses an Adaptec AHA-1740 in Enhanced Mode. I load up
- the Adaptec drivers from ASW-1410 (ASPIEDOS and ASPIDISK), configure
- the controller to see the Bernoulli as a hard drive, allow synch
- negotiation, transfer at 10 MB/s, etc., just like for my main hard
- drive. The Adaptec drivers then make the Bernoulli look like a big,
- fast floppy drive.
-
- The only 'trick' is that your Bernoulli cartridges will have to be
- reformatted using AFDISK before the Adaptec will see them. On my 44
- MB, they come out slightly smaller than the RCD format makes them
- (42MB vice 44MB), but they run so much faster through the Adaptec
- controller that it's worth the minor loss of capacity to me. I don't
- know what the 90's will format out to, assuming that it will work just
- like the 44 does.
