  11. I got some new hardware for my PC for Christmas this morning.  An ESDI
  12. hard drive and a controller card for it.  The hardware is used, and
  13. unfortunately didn't come with any instruction manuals.

  15. Since the card came with cables, it wasn't hard to figure out how to
  16. connect it to the drive (Pin 1 is clearly marked), and the floppy.  The
  17. system now boots up and recognizes the floppy drive just fine.  But I'm
  18. getting nowhere with the hard drive.

  20. There are a multitude of configuration jumpers present on the board.  I've
  21. played around with a few of them, in the hopes of activating the on-board
  22. ROM so I can run the hard drive setup utility which should be present there.
  23. No luck so far.

  25. If anyone has the manual for one of these cards, or knows how to set one
  26. up, I'd appreciate any pointers you might be able to provide.  Shooting in
  27. the dark for hours on end as I've been doing so far gets frustrating real
  28. fast...  I think all I need to know is how to activate the ROM present on
  29. the card and the address of the setup utility in the ROM so I can execute
  30. it from the debug utility.
